10 -AMAZING TIPS TO PREVENT OR GET RID OF INGROWN HAIRS

GET RID OF INGROWN HAIRS

1-Shave At The End Of Your Shower
Another tip on how to get rid of ingrown hairs is to shave at the end of your shower.
I admit it; I used to be one of those who dived into the shower and started shaving immediately. It was my routine and I’d done it for years.
And then I found out that this was actually causing my ingrown hairs!
Shaving is a stressful process for the skin. It can easily damage hair follicles, which consequently encourages ingrown hairs. To reduce the risk of this happening, it is advisable that you shave at the end of your shower.
What you’re essentially doing is hydrating your hair follicles so that they become soft. When they’re soft, they don’t tug and pull as much. Thus, they don’t curl.
2-Exfoliate Often
One of the best tips on how to get rid of ingrown hairs is to exfoliate before shaving or waxing. This is because when your layer of dead skin is really thick, it makes it harder for a hair to break through and shoot up straight like a dandelion. Instead, it’s finding it tough to break through that thick layer of dead skin, and it inevitably droops backwards and grows inwards.
So, prior to any type of hair removal – exfoliate first.
3-Use Vinegar
Another tip on how to get rid of ingrown hairs is to use vinegar.
My grandmother used to treat everything with vinegar, from wasp strings to eczema.
She’s probably use it to treat diabetes if she was still alive. Bless her.
But vinegar is fantastic when it comes to drawing out ingrown hairs. Soak warm vinegar in a towel before applying it to the affected area for about 10 minutes. Do this a few times a day until eventually you will see the hair working its way out.
4-Treat The Hair Like A Pimple
When you were a teenager, you probably had your fair share of zits that suddenly popped up on your face at the worst possible time. Perhaps the Prom was just 2 days away when your worst nightmare happened: A zit had decided to appear with a cheeky smile on the end of your nose. It knew what it had done!
Your mom knew exactly how to treat it, though; she got her arsenal of combatants out and applied benyzol peroxide 4-5 times per day until that zit had to disappear with its tail between its legs. So long, zit!
Well, you can treat ingrown hairs in exactly the same way. Applying salicylic acid or benyzol peroxide a few times per day can eliminate them easily. You should exfoliate too.
5-Apply A Warm Compress
Next good tip on how to get rid of ingrown hairs is to apply a warm compress.
This is a tip my mom gave me when I had my first ingrown hair. If you can see that an ingrown hair is actually embedded right in your skin (I know right?), you are probably feeling some serious irritation right now.
But a great way to soothe your symptoms and soften the villainous hair is by applying a warm compress over it. Just do this for a few minutes at different times during the day until eventually you’ll notice that the little red bump is scurrying away.
6-Use Sugar
On Beauty And Tips, we’re often telling our readers to cut down on sugar. This time, however, we’re going to encourage you to use sugar usefully.
By mixing a cup of sugar with half a cup of virgin oil you can draw out ingrown hairs. All you need to do is take this cup, stir in around 8-10 drops of lavender essential oil and tea tree oil and apply it to your ingrown hair. Gently rub it for a few minutes before rinsing and repeat a few times per week.
7-Shave Properly
Our final tip on how to get rid of ingrown hairs is to shave ‘comme il faut’. The prime reason for your ingrown hairs could be the way you shave. For proper shaving, try softening your legs first with a good shaving cream and always shave gently. Shave along your skin and not agains it. Remember, you’re not fighting the hairs!
8-Don’t Wear Tight Clothing
Our first tip on how to get rid of ingrown hairs is to avoid wearing tight clothing.
Yes, many of us love to wear tight clothing. The tighter the better for some of us. It brings out your shape, accentuates your curves, and makes you feel desirable.
But if you find that you’re getting ingrown hairs pretty frequently, it could be the tight clothes that are at fault here.
Tight jeans and shirts cause friction, which in turn puts pressure on your delicate hair follicles. What happens is that they get all defensive and weak – and they start to curl into your skin. Not cool.
9-Use Tweezers
If you fancy getting all DIY on your ingrown hairs, you could use tweezers to prize the little nasties out of your skin.
Make sure your tweezers are sterile, and always remove your hairs before shaving or waxing. It’s pretty easy to do; simply poke the bump with your needle. It will come out after around a minute. Don’t be scared if a little blood comes out, too. And don’t forget to disinfect the area.
Tip: DON’T let your boyfriend do it. Even if he says he’s a “dab hand with tweezers,” just ignore him.
10-Apply Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is magical. It can be used to treat so many skin conditions and ailments, and it can definitely be used to successfully treat ingrown hairs.
Applying a blend of tea tree oil and Aloe Vera is the best way to go; it reduces the swelling before attacking any infection caused by the inwardly curled hairs.
Although Aloe Vera itself doesn’t eliminate the hair altogether, it makes the actual removal process much less painful.
